Usadba Jazz Ekaterinburg

Yekaterinburg is widely known as the fourth biggest Russian city, the industrial megapolis and president Boris Yeltsin's birth place. Located in the Ural mountains it used to be the place where only the strong survive: in the Tsarist Russia it was the place for exile. Up to these days people of Ural are known for their toughness, straightness and passion to life.

Usadba Jazz is based in the beautiful English-style park near the Neo-classicist Rastorguev-Kharitonov estate (17941824). As the title goes, the townhouse was first commissioned to Lev Rastorguev. Starting his career as an assistant at the small winery, he soon became a merchant, responsible for the whole alcohol trade in the region. After his death, the estate was owned by his brother-in-law Peter Haritonov, a man whose passion were loud parties and celebrations. It was him who decided to build the English-style park around the townhouse.
Usadba Jazz in Yekaterinburg always brings a mix of groovy and bouncy music with something more intelligent and experimental. Dutch electrofunk dons Kraak & Smaak, Russian indie-heroes Tesla Boy & Pompeya, Brazilian world-music diva Ellen Oleria, acid-jazz combo Jazzamor (Germany), US drummer Chris Dave and eccentric pop artist Migguel Anggelo – the list of musicians, performing at Usadba Jazz Yekaterinburg could go even further.
